Why Haters are good for business

While negativity adds little to your life, it can be beneficial to your business. Your "Haters", those who just don't seem to get you, can actually be of some use to you. And although the last thing you might want to do is strike up a conversation with one of them, they might actually shine light on things you might not see.

So how do you handle Haters?

Nothing will keep you more grounded than coming up against a wall of Haters. The trick is to learn from them because no one will ever be as brutally honest as they will. They might not always be right but there is a chance they will expose a flaw in your perfect plan.

Listen, Learn, and turn their doubt into strength.

The next time you encounter a Hater, don't let him shake you up or push you off balance. Avoid the temptation to fire back. He may be struggling with something that is completely unrelated to you. Listen and be compassionate.  If you choose to respond, do so in a positive way.

When he tells you that you aren't making sense, say "It doesn't make sense? Yeah, I'm with you on that. It really IS counter intuitive. The cool thing is every time I've done it it worked."

You'll shift the energy of the conversation. You'll feel wonderful. I promise.

Use their negativity to focus and motivate you. Accept their challenge and work toward proving them wrong.

Have you ever encountered a Hater? If so, send me a note. I'd love to know how you handled it.
